Just have to mention the variety photos on this site. If not for the excellent photo listings I would miss a lot. I'm not very good at discriptions and search mainly by the photos. Almost threw this one back. Well worn on the obverse but the position and the shape of the MM caused me to look through the listings for markers If I'm not mistaken this would be the 1MM-002. The die crack at the right wheat leads me to believe it is. Thanks for all the photos.

In this case Steven, the marker photo defintiely helps you determine which variety this is. In 1953, a lot of the S mintmarks were very close to the date, and looked similar. Yours definitely looks like #002. _________________ Bob Piazza
