Well Robert..>The mintmark has a hit on it, but also has some characteristics of an RPM. What denomination is this on? I would tend to lean toward it being a damaged RPM.

OK Now I see it. I couldn't make out what coin it was on Robert. The post heading says 1957, and I didn't look at any Franklins. The coin has an interesting bit to the west of the bottom serif....but the mintmark itself still looks damaged. I am not aware of ANY 1956D Franklin RPMs.

I guess I can't do anything right this evening the coin is a 1957D Franklin Half Dollar. Sorry I will go crawl back in my hole again. We recieved over 7 inches of rain today in Dallas. lucky2

Lucky2: keep you floaties on! We have had that much rain here in the last 10 years all together. If floods here when we get a 1/2 inch of rain. People here think there cars can float right through water in low spots, but they have to be rescued to get out. I think the fire department needs a fishing license to keep up with those idiots.
