BJ Neff(Wavysteps2003) and I made the front page of Coin World this week from an article written by John Wexler. I read the article yesterday and it looks good. The headline reads, “Indiana Collector Finds 2006 Doubled Die Cents”. The three page article tells how I found them and showed them to BJ who in turn contacted John about them. From there he describes each of the 7 varieties in some detail. His photos are black and white except for one color photo on the first page and there’s one that is especially dramatic as side by side comparisons of a normal date to that of a 2006P-1DO-003 which has so much shift in its date. I subscribe to CW online so I can read the new one on Tuesdays. I don’t get a hard copy, but I will be going to Louisville this Friday or Saturday in search of Coin World.

Murph: If you can pick me up a copy. I'd like to see who took the color photo on the cover.

Congratulations to both of you for the CW article. Im sure a couple of followup articles will follow. Also, Im sure Billy Crawford will write about the discoveries, so I would keep an eye out for Numismatic News.
What is the issue date of the issue? I got my CW, dated April 3rd, but I dont see the article. It is maybe in an upcomming issue.
Murphy, email CW, and they will send you a copy of the CW issue for your contribution.
When articles were published about my 2004 DDO nickel, I emailed the magazines that were publishing, and they were more than glad to send me a copy, even when I was not a subscribed member.

Thanks! Let's see, it is out now in this weeks edition of Coin World. Should be delivered in a day or so.
Coin Values will hit the streets in mid-May, according to Eric von Klinger, "Beth Deisher says, 'It will be in the newsstand version of our July 2006 issue. Will be on newsstands in mid May.' (That means it won't be in the version of Coin Values that goes inside Coin World, since we have already run first in Coin World, but a non-subscriber in, say, Albuquerque, could pick up your story in the newsstand edition.) Will mail you copies then."

Point out to Eric von Klinger that this site reported the discovery first. Try to get him to mention the site in some way. I have tried many times to get him to write an article on the site, but he never did...

I read the article on line today also. I am trying to remember if I know anybody from Indiana. DO any of you know anybody from Indiana?
Actually, it is a very well written article. Congrats to you Murph, and to you BJ for getting the word out.
As things look now, John's numbers are already old news. Looks like more 2006 doubled dies are just waiting for us to find. I myself found a 2006P doubled die obverse last night that is not currently on the site. It will be on there pretty soon.

Thank you all very much!
I got another box of pennies at the bank today. Opened one roll and found - nada. Some of them had some rounded corners of RTY in LIBERTY, but not notching. I mean I didn't even find a Bar Cent or a die clash! Those are usually the easiest ones to find. I think the mint has cleaned up some of the mess in Lincoln's Room. Some of the pennies I'm finding now look extraordinarily good. They are early to mid die state, very well struck and have few if any water spots. I've found quite a few 66's, several 67's and one 68 by PCGS standards. And that's from searching maybe half a dozen of the latest rolls.
