Is this what's called a "Double Strike" ?
Seen a few of these going thru cents ... but don't know what to refer to them as ... any help ... or just what is it called?
Look at the top of UNITED, has UNIT in "Rim".

I wouldn't call this a double strike. It is very interesting though. It was obviously made during the striking process, and my guess is that the planchet was not seated in the collar fully when the hammer die started the strike. I am guessing that it caught a little bit of the upstart rim before the planchet fell back into the collar for a normal strike.
Once again, I am only taking a guess here. Anyone else??

I copied it to my desktop and blew it up ... the results was not very good ... maybe you could post a larger picture, I can't tell anything from the blow-up (of the picture you posted) ... to fuzzy.

Gary - your coin has die scratches on it. They are raised. This comes from the mint cleaning the dies off. Your coin appears to have a little wear, probably an AU.

There never was a mintmark on your coin. The die scratches are positioned where they are because that's where they scrubbed the die, probably to remove clash marks from the reverse die - nothing more.

To answer your other question: How to start a post ...
Notice top, right hand corner of the first post or bottom; were it states: new topic
Just click on that link and post as you did here.
When you enter any topic area ... the layout is the same.
Just click, new topic ... and it will start a new topic in that area of interest. (as you picked new topic 'within' a post that's why it posted at that point)
Good luck and welcome aboard ...

Yes it is ... but it did it within a post ...
need to do it as you enter that area, that way it post/s of top of the other post/s, in that area. (you started "new topic", within a post that was started all ready.)
But hay ... no harm ... we don't mind, we all have the same interest/s here. Only reason I even said anything is because you asked.
Have a nice day and agian ... welcome aboard.
