Coop,

The obv die wasn't bad, nothing interesting.

The rev die was so worn and weak that the wheat stalks have that sort of doubling. (like the 55/5)

Your point is good, not only was the rev die worn but it might not have been hubbed well in the first place.

Whatever they did in the 20s and even on those 1922 plains with weak reverses seems like the mint was using dies to death. (especially rev dies)
