I just read where another 2007 P "Satin Finish" double struck dollar was found - this time a Madison dollar from a U.S. Mint Set (the set issues with a silver eagle). Here is a link to the article...

I find it interesting that as rare as these are, there are many similarities between this new discovery and the 2007 P SMS Sac dollar I found. Both involved only a slight rotation, both were double struck in collar (no partial Collar), both were Satin Finish "Mint Set" coins minted in the same year and both from Philly.

Other than being a completely different design, the only major difference is the the 2nd strike on the Madison dollar appears to be a regular (heavy) strike, flattening out much of the design from the initial strike. Could it be from the same equipment -- or just a coincidence?
