JRocco: Interesting pattern of wear on the mintmark. But it seems the upper serif should follow the die punch at the tip. It does appear to be a north and the lower area shows a little bit. But it looks like die fatigue or a die scratch. but maybe I'm wrong as you need to see the coin in hand to tell for sure. Sometimes light makes things appear and then at a different angle it disappears. Kind of like on Mars the formation of a mountain appeared to be from earth to be a face. Later found out it was just shadows that was that caused it to look that way. So I would hang on to till you know for sure. It might be an educational piece or maybe a RPM.
Time will tell as other maybe seeing something I don't see. I thought I had found the first RPM for 1913-S. I found a coin at a coin show that looked like a RPM.

Found out later it was die fatigue. I was disappointed to hear that, but it made it into Chucks book on page 54. I was using a loupe at the show and all I was concentrating was the mintmark. Later Chuck pointed out the wear on the 19 of that date. So it turned out to be an educational piece that I have here..........somewhere. LOL So you never know till you get other opinions and they may want to see the coin in hand or they maybe able to give you their estimation on the site. Well my two cents. _________________ Richard S. Cooper

I don't see an RPM when I look at those pictures. Doesn't mean there's not something there, but the photos didn't capture it in a convincing manner. _________________ C. D. Daughtrey
