I am not sure what this is. A Die Variety or just another whatever. This is a 1995 Lincoln with no detail in the ear. I have also just found a similar item on a 1997 Lincoln. What do you think? Am I going to retire Rich? lucky2

Die overpolishing - somewhat common. Polishing a die takes away the lowest relief as it appears on the coins first, since that's the highest relief on the die. All of the missing neck, missing throat, lips that float, filled ear, floating roof "varieties" are nothing more than this, and never really warrant attention because very few people would have interest in collecting them.
