Bill: Lighting is better, right over center. You seem too close when you take your image. Try backing off just a little, and try to get the size you want with editing. The focus seems to be the biggest problem. That is what I would work on next. Great coins to have for imaging though. The 82 DDO I don't think I've seen before. Bob will be drolling over it.

Thanks,
I'll try backing up a little and see what happens.
The 82 DDO shows nice doubling on the Motto.
A fun coin for sure.
Have a GREAT Night!!

Sorry it took so long to reply to this thread, but coop was right. I had to wipe off my keyboard after drooling over that 82 coin.
I agree with coops assessment of your pics. I also think you could probably add a little more contrast to the pics if your editing software allows you to do that.
Considering the setup you are using Bill, the pics are pretty good. Just keep practicing until you get your focus right. Focus is my major problem because I am blind in one eye and can't see out of the other one. Actually, I need to use my glasses, but can't use them while using the microscope, so sometimes I images suffer as the camera can not make up for it. Either way...I like the progress you are making.

I know I had a problem with focus till Chuck made a suggestion.

| Try focusing, not on the top of the number/letter, but on the field where the anomily sits. |
In other words on a RPM try to focus on the field on the edge or inside the RPM. On doubled dies try to focus on the center of the image field. This way the image will stay in focus. Also if you are using a stereo microscope, focus with the one eyepeice you are shooting through first, then take your shot. You may want to close the eye on the eyepiece your not using. On a single scope there would be no problem Just be peticularly meticilous on your focus and your images will show that your are.
