Hi Robert,
I noted your interest in Canadian coins. Growing up in Maine I set aside a few Canadian pennies while I was primarily collecting wheaties. Are you aware of any good web sites to research Canadian cents for varieties and values ? I have a bunch that I will probably sell but wanted to research them first.

Up front I can tell you that nobody has an interest in varieties like Americans do about their coins. Many Canadian collectors consider die varieties a waste of time and energy.
Having said that, Ken Potter lists die varieties of foreign coins, but I am uncertian whether you would be able to find much about it online....or in print for that matter.

True, with the exception of a few notable varieties, such as the 1558/1858 10c, the 1908 L8, numerous "dot" varieties, NSS 1cs of 1954-55, and the exceedingly rare 1969 LD 10c. There is huge demand (and value) for all of these, and the last coin is a true rarity that commands $10,000+ in circulated grades! Every collector who looks through Canadian bulk coins should be aware of this one:
Not a copper coin per se, but very good to know about--especially since a few have been found circulated.

Chuck,On the new site, is there a possibility that there "could be a section for Varieties in General", including any denomination, and/or metal? After all, that is what we seek, and especially on Coppercoins.com!
