You know more about it , than I, Gabe. I see the lettering, and read it, but the coin is unknown to me. I collected world coins, many years ago, but, like the Mexican collections, the world coins went the same way. The ones I have at this time, have come to me in rolls of quarters, nickels, and/or cents. ditto the car wash tokens! Quarter sized!

Yes, it's from the Netherlands. Twelve million made (compared to over a billion for US 1953 P-D-S cents). It's bronze, which is copper plus tin and possibly zinc, phosphorus, etc.
Note the privy mark (fish) and mint mark (caduceus, for Utrecht) next to "CENT".
Not sure what the plant is on the reverse.

"Je Maintiendrai," "I will maintain," is the motto of the House of Orange and Nassau, the Royal Family of the Netherlands. The Bust is Queen Julianna ( Juliana Koningin. ) Her daughter is Queen Beatrix and they are the decendants of the Orange and Nassau Families. Their Great, Great, etc. Uncle was a King of England ( King William III. ) The sprig is an Orange branch representing their last name.
