This one is a bit different:

Not a "POORMAN'S" double.

check the profile. Same coin.

I think the 1969-S was famous for its huge MD's as well as the 1983 reverse. I have come across samples of both that are amazing in that the shelf like doubling is almost as big as the numbers and letters themselves. I usually keep them because I find them intriguing.

Okay people - the 1969-S shown is an error coin and not a variety coin. It should be in the next place down on the forum.

Maybe I'm picky about this, however, I hate to see any MDD coins mentioned as doubled dies, ESPECIALLY the 1969-S Lincoln cents. It erks me when I see a listing for the 1969-S Lincoln cent, MDD on Ebay go off for over a $100.00 to people believing that it is a doubled die. ARGHHHHHH !!!!!!!!.

And technically it's not even an error. To the mint it is an acceptable part of the minting process and is considered a normal coin.

Typical machine doubling dates include 1968-1971, 1973, 1982-1985. These are where it's most common. They are of course possible on any date...and none of them have any premium value.

BJ...Did you take your medication today???

1969S coins have been the headache for most of us who know better. If you try to be nice and tell the seller what he/she is actually selling, they don't care. It's just money in their pockets from an uninformed buyer.

I'll go buy another bottle of aspirin for BJ.

OKay folks, I know it is MD! I have BIG FINGERS and poor eyes! So I BOO-BOO'ed! Any 6 letters, or numbers, around any key are likely unclusions when I type! Take your medications BJ! I did, and look what happened! If you think that was bad, check this:It is the REV of a 1973-S. The statue cought my attention, but I can't reproduce it the way I saw it.

Still learning, but (not much)!
