Check this one out. I don't think I see it on Coppercoins yet, so perhaps it is a new variety, or at least new to the listings on this web site.
Note the strong split serif which is protruding more along the west side of the D rather than south, which seems more common on the existing D/D's. Also, note the one pic with what looks like faint evidence of the second D under the primary D south.
When I first looked at the primary split serif, I almost thought it was a lamination issue or crack where part of the primary D was splitting off. But the more I look, the more I think it's a D/D
There is no doubt that this is an RPM, and it does have similarities to others for this year. When I get a bit more time, I may be able to study the pics further and let you know if it is one already identified, or a new variety. _________________ Bob Piazza
