The "2" on this date looked so odd, that I thought I would get some shots, (sorry about the size), and needed some help. I have shots of the obv, and rev. I am sure it has some doubling, but not sure which type. Note the Designers initials are nearly on the end of the stylobate.

,
If I had known the last one was going to come out this size, I'd have done all that way! The "duce" has me very intrigued. Comments? Thanks,
Dick

The 2 of the date actually shows Master Die Doubling you would find on most 1972 coins. As far as the designers initials on the reverse, it is pretty normal for a coin in that die state MLDS.
By the way, your pictures are much improved here Dick. Congrats for 'taming the beast' Laughing

Bob, Thanks, again. I knew there was "some doubling" on the '72's, but didn't know exactly what was referred to, so with this, i know now. Regarding the "beast", it does take time, doesn't it? Ihave made several changes, and still am, for that fact. It helps to have a 32" screen to look at while trying to get the focus the best I can. It is a 3-way thing doing it. IE, the scope focus, then the eye-piece focus, and then the distance from the actual camera, whew!
Gary, this is not "our" camera. I can't get as good a focus on this scope, so another will be obtained, that goes with the camera, then we shall see! Thanks, all, for your help, and comments. It makes my day!
Dick
PS. After having gone thru a whole batch of '72's, I see what you, mean, about the "2". Thanks again,
Dick

Dick,

Your pics are getting better!
If you look at the motto on your 72 cents you might see the master doubling on the motto. On the P cents it's tough to find them without it.

ED, thanks for your input, and comments. They are most welcome. I joined VAMs, and tried to ask a question, but after finally finding where to post it, I left the question. I wanted to edit it, but couldn't find how, so I just abandoned it completely, and decided to ask the same question in the "other coinage" area. I looked at the rev on those, but not anything in particular, other than the statue. I'll go thru them, again. This time looking at the REV! It will be easier to get TO them, this time. The first time, they had to be separated from 60 rolls! All are by date/mint, and in containers. Have a nice day!
Dick

Gary, I'm cheating! It is another camera. I have several. I need to get the 'scope that is designed for the camera, and then we will see what comes out. I am getting a little bit more of an idea as to what I want to do, but it'll take a while.
Thanks, anyway,
Dick
