Not sure where this should go so I put it here. Many interesting links, including how cannons were made in the 16th century. The metal alloy was about 90% copper, 10% tin. It's a form of bronze.

For those who may not know, Mel Fisher is a famous shipwreck salvager. He found the "Atocha", a gold and silver-laden Spanish galleon that went down in a hurricane off the Florida coast back around 1700. Check out these treasures! (takes a while to download them all but it's worth it)
