I had a collector give me a Doubled Die from Canada. Most of the time Canadian coins that are Errors to Canadian collectors are not even noticed. Nice to see that a Doubled Die is recognized. I thought I would post it so all can enjoy it.

I haven't seen many Canadian errors. Sort of like error Standing Liberty Quarters. Hard to find.
Distinguishing DD from strike doubling is sometimes difficult for me. I would have thought that was strike. I don't see any split serifs... can you point them out to me?
Most of the Standing Liberty quarters wore out before their time just like the Buffalo Nickel. The date wore off first rendering such a coin as dateless. So if you found a BU example of the Standing Liberty Quarter or Buffalo Nickel, they would be the ones to search for varieties. But the Standing Liberty quarters in BU are few and far between. I've noticed a few Barber quarters that looked nice, but the one I saw had been cleaned. I found a nice EF/AU 1916 Barber one at a shop, but the cleaning ruined the value of the coin in my opinion. Although looking semi-nice, the cleaning took its toll on the coin. It was nice to see the Liberty on the headband as most examples you see the Liberty is worn off. _________________ Richard S.
