Dick: I posted on another thread about this. I feel it is machine doubling. But made me think of another thing I needed to cover. On the devices edges facing the rim, sometimes you set a reflection of the rim on the side facing the rim. This is not the case on your coin. The lower letters on the EPU show the machine doubling, which is not present on the upper level letters. Just thought I would give everyone the heads up on the reflection as it sometimes make me take another look as it sometimes appears as doubling.

Coop, thanks for confirming what I suspected. I was going thry a box of cents that I got in March, and it has from one to a dozen older cents, in each roll. All the rest are 2007-D, BU. There have been a LOT of the MD's, and You can imagine what it would have been like if it had been Doubled die! STASHED!!! so now it won't get "TRASHED", but very likely exchanged for another. No one wants a box of 2007-D's, and with it, I now have two, one slightly "used", and the other solid date, BU.

Thought that I would jump in on this one.
Actually you can see some doubling on the U and R of PLURIBUS. What interests me about this particular die is that we do have a precedent set, for similar dies have been found in 2002, 2003 and 2004, all from Denver.
Unfortunately, the pictures do not show the end of the Us or the top of the N (both hidden in shadows) to see if there is notching.
Dick, is there any chance to retake the pictures with a differnt light angle?
Coop, you are right about rim reflection; it has made me look twice at times!!!!!

BJ, I think you will be disappointed. I see no doubling, other than in the inside of the loop on both the "P", and the "R", and that I believe might be MD. I can make the (doubling show on the other side of the letters, which confirms my thought that it is the reflection from the sides of the letters. Tthis because the coins are from March this year, when I bought it, and who knows how long they have been stored. The tubes in the bos are about 90% brand new, NU, and the rest are a mixture of misc dates, to finish out the roll. Not selected, and added, but a random mix that was rolled. This makes me believe that the "pristine" condition of the letters lent themselvres to the reflection. The whol box has 41 rolls od the 2007-D, and a few extras went to finish out the other 9 rolls with the misc dates, including a 1957D-1DO-002, EDS. AU55. At any rate, here is another shot of "one of the coins", as I did not locate the particular one that the first photo was made of.
I can't give you a better focus, due to equipment, and my eyes.
later. Bj I am going to tale another photo, but with another camera, ans d see what comes out. If it is worthwhile, I'll post it.
