So that is what all the hub-bub is about. Probably only be worth a premium in BU condition. I know I wouldn't buy a circulated one. So I'll look at the BU example as see if I find any.
You know I have a few AU coins that I save. You know the one you find in circulation. The ones you hope are a variety? When they turn out not to be, I put them all in a tube to look at another time. The rest of the circulated stuff, I don't worry about. I just put them back to work. They probably get looked over many times during their lives. Wink

Looked through all of my 88-D cents and found none.

Must not be an easy to find die variety.

This is a nice find and there seems to be a developed interest in these transitional coins. The other "forum" has had over 500 hits on this particular thread.

Of course the value of this coin is still in question for it has not been determined how many are available. If the count stays below the 1999 Lincoln cent with the RDV-006 reverse, then the price will be substantial. If the count is around the level for the 1992-D with RDV-007 reverse, then we are looking at a very nice coin indeed.

For those of you who have missed me, I have been tied up with the other "forum" (mostly getting rid of the stupid porn sites that keep popping up), trying to catch up on the way step / trail dies (with the additions this year, they will number well over 500) and putting the finishing touches on the "Trail / Wavy Step; A New Die Variety Explained" article that hopefully will be going to print soon; it is in the hands of the editor right now.

You all have a good one and get ready to look at some pennies for Chuck's survey. It is a darn good cause and well worth your time to do it.

I just checked 45, that were in a tube on the year "rack". Nearly all were very thin. There arerthree, that are that are borderline, and ine that id definitely "fatter than the other three, but I'm sceptical about it. It will take better eyes that mune to say for sure. THese are coins that I have separated into rolls, over a period of time, and are bank boxes only. I'm not sure if that is the way Chuck will want the coins, et al, or just the ones he has mentioned, 60', 79', 74', and 82' all types. We will have to wait and see what CD specifies.
