This 1984P looks to have extra thickness in LIBERTY and GOD. Notching on the N, G, D and W. Extra thickness of GOD. A bit fuzzy but what do you think.

Like Gabe said it looks like a doubled die but maybe too minor to be listed. There's a lot of different 84 DDOs out there.

In the time I have been a member of this forum, I have learned a lot about "what to ask". When I sent a coin to ANACS to have it atributed, I didn't have the faintest idea as to what "they" were supposed to look for, because I didn'd have the faintest idea as to what to aske them to LOOK FOR! Now I understand the the "attributors" in general scratch their heads, and ask themselves, I wonder what they want me to see! This post most likely is in thw "wrong place" as most of mine have been, but This thread made me rrealize what the "attrubutors" have to go thru.. SO for you "newbies, in case you are as "green' as I was, this will give you an idea as to what to ask for when you send your coin(s) to be attributed. Tell them what you see, or think you see. They are over-worked? Yes. Underpaid? Yes. But they are not "Minnd-readers" Hope this helps someone, who might be as green as I was.

Dick,
It's a useful subject, everyone goes through frustration dealing with TPGs like you did.
First you must decide yourself if a coin is realy worth spending money on attributing or grading. If the coin has a problem like cleaning or damage be sure to send it to a TPG that will still holder it or they keep your money and return the coin in a bag. You must understand what each company will or will not attribute. For example be sure it's a variety that the particular company will attribute and understand what each service level gives. If you don't pay for attribution you won't get it. If sending to ANACs and you pay for verification only but your attribution is wrong don't expect any attribution at all. So the only time that noting the PUPs (what you think is doubling) would help at all is if you are paying for attribution. If you pay for verification then be sure you state the right variety (coneca die number, coppercoins number, FS #) and nothing else. If sending to PCGS be sure it's a variety they will attribute, they mostly only do FS # varieties. If sending to NGC look at their varieties plus list and give them the correct VP number.
I'm eager to see if anything changes at ANACs since they moved, who knows how the new owners will run it.
Sory it's a bit off topic but a good subject!

I thought I explained what I was seeing in my post to the point of incerting arrows pointing to those areas, but maybe not well enough. I suppose I asked for it when I said "what do you think".
