I was extremely happy to have cherried a decent XF Lincoln 1909 DDO-2 the other day. No doubt about it, as the pics will show below.

Also, look at the raised dots or areas in front of eye on this next pic - same coin. Just metal blobs, or what might have caused those?

Nice find, and in really nice shape to boot! As far as the little dots next to the eye, it seems to be die gouges from maybe a pitted die.

That area in front iof the throat, looks like "bay" from a clash. How can it be there on a WHEAT?

Dick,
The clashes in front of the throat on wheat cents are from the letters on ONE CENT. You are right that they do resemble the bays of the memorial building on newer cents.

Bob, I agree. It is the "n". Strange how they happened to coincide so closely.
A question: What type of scope are you using for Macro-Photography? I need to get that type for viewing. My vision problem doesn't give me much help on larger views. By that I mean overall views. When projected on the TV, yes it is easy to see the details. Thanks, and have a nice day.

Dick,
The microscope I use is an Omano stereo 7-35X zoom scope. Take a look at this site. The first scope looks similar to the one I have, but mine has a few more bells and whistles.

Maybe something like this will do you well enough to see better?
