Sandra, can you gie me a shot of "UNUM", and the statue? I don't know which time zone you are in, so it may be later than I think! It is 11:02 PST here.

Hi Dick, sorry for the delay but work is getting in the way of life I will get to taking a photo when I can modify the lighting somehow. I did tape some plastic over the scope light to try to tone it down. I don't use another light source but there is a halogen lamp on my desk that I have been shutting off. Nothing special for the scope set up it is just sitting on my desk, I have to use 60x magnification because 10x is not enough, at 10x I have to crop too much and the pic gets too distorted. Then at 60 x it's overkill and only 2 letters fits in the view but it's the best shot I can come up with. I will have to tinker with what I have at my disposal, experiment and such till I can afford a scope that has more magnification options. The camera works without the blurring lines at times but when they appear in the viewfinder It's hard to see the focal point and what I'm shooting. Frustrating but I don't give up easy so I will continue to try.

Sandra, I unbderstand your frustration. You are using a QX5, or maybe a QX3. Your options are very limited with it. I have a QX3. I use it, but only when I need some extra X!, Then I go to 200X.
The shot of the statue is great. It shows what I expected to see, mormal; or a bar, on one side or the other.
The reason I asked for "UNUM" was in case the "doubling" I think I see, might also show there, which would convince me that it is MD. I am not sure with what I have seen. The coin appears to be very "new", almost BU, and the ?doubling" that I think I see could very well be reflection from the sides of the letters.
Work? Ah yes, that nasty thing one has to put up with in the daily life, to provide the very coins we seek, and search so enthusiastically! Take care.
Dick

The shot of the statue I managed with the camera, I will try to get get one of UNUM. I really need to become independently wealthy because I am enjoying searching Lincolns more than going to work.
