Just found nice BU 1961 D/D not sure which one. I have looked over all 8 pages of the 1961D's on this site and several of them look as though they could match...any ideas?
Thanks
Ron

Ron,
The digit's and D have Machine Doubling on them. The D is rotated to the ccw. It is a 1961 D with the split Serif. Someone will verify or null my assesment but I think it is a Variety.

I can't see very well, but it looks like a D/D-N, and trotated ccw. The lower serifs are split. There could also be some MD.

There is no doubt that this is an RPM. As far as which one, it would take considerable research as there are many that are similar for the date. I suggest you take the markers and mintmark location and try to match it on the site based on those. There is also the possibility that it is a new variety as they are still being found.
This date and 1960D can really challenge your sanity as there are approximately 234 RPMs for these two dates.

Thanks everyone! Bob you are correct about challenging your sanity, I don't know how many times I looked at all 8 pages of the 1961D listings trying to figure this one out.
Thanks Again!
Ron
