Don't know much about nickels but my son wanted me to take a look at the "S" on this 1941 Jefferson, is this an inverted mintmark?? I took a look in the Cherrypickers Guide and saw that there was one for this year.
Thanks
Ron

The mint mark is fairly bang up, however, it does look like it could be possibly an inverted mint mark. It is not the one pictured in the CPG; the location is different.

My first impression from looking at the pictures is that the mint mark does look inverted. I think further analyzes is needed on this piece.

Stang.ay it is right side up . Notice the way it comes to a point on the lower side of the top loop. It doesn't have the dame angle that a trumpet tail has.
