I ran across this last night, and just wondered if it is antything worthy of keeping:

Note the "creases", or lines that follow the contour of the letters? It is on all of the letters in the word "united", and is only visible at certain angles.

Dick: Not sure what I'm looking at? It maybe that your looking too close. It's also depends on what year of coin. Devices have different widths for different years. The coin your showing seems wider lettered for some years and normal for others. It could be your seeing die wear making the edges look different at different angles. But nothing really stand out to me from what I can see in this image.

Coop, I lost contact with the coin, and don't know what the date was, but what I was referring to is the slight line that follows the curve on the "D", and can be seen very slightly on thr tip of the "E", and also a small part of the "S". All the letters in "United" have this anomily, but can't be seen from this angle.

Coop, this is what I was trying to determine:

It is a 2004D, that may have a DDR.
What do you think?

Sorry, I don't see anything. It could be die movement/die wear or something else. I think it is too minor to be too interested in. I would save it for now and look at it another time later and see what you think then. When we look to close, a bag nick looks like the grand canyon. If there is something there it should jump out at you like a rattler.
