I just found a definite 2006 "liberty" trails. Looks like the one pic you have of E Pluribus, except they come from the bottom of the letters. 1 on the L, 1-I, 2-B and 1 on E. They do not come up on pics. Have you found any like this? Also I was reading some of the photo help and you wrote of your camera, because of the angles you have to take. Do you still use that camera?
Also do you have any suggestions for the beginner as to what I could use without spending a fortune? I'm going to check around t'morow and see if I can get a least of pic of it to send you. If you already have one, then if you would post a pic of it.
Then I could tell you if I have the same.
Thanks
Teryble

Hi Tery - Try and see if your trail die is a match to the one on this site; 2006P-1DO-016.

Yes the trails seem to match and I also have the huge crack in hair, but as far as date and reverse of coin I cannot tell.
Also Wavy I have another question about that penny that you said had scratch marks. I don't mean to question your knowledge, as I am a true novice at this. If I don't ask I won't learn! But the "spear" that is shown below definetly seems to protrude from the face of coin. If it were a scratch, wouldn't it be a indentation?
Thanks, T

Theresa,
To answer your question about scratches and gouges, if the scratch or gouge is on the die, then the resulting struck coin would show it as a raised line...not indented. Remember that everything on the die is the exact opposite of how it would appear on a struck coin. On your coin, it appears that a large scratch or gouge occurred on the die itself, and that leads to the appearance of a raised gouge on the coin.
