I believe I have a RPM, but do not see any listings that compare to mine? Thanks for input!

"Maxi", sorry, but I believe that would be a "zinc-RPM". The alloy, and the effects of the strike, etc, all combine to give that look very often. As it "ages", that MM will actually fall off.

The plating of copper on the coin was torn while the coin was struck. This tear went throught to the plating and now the zinc is exposed and deteriating. First it raised and then it falls and eventually the mint mark will fall off. Just something that happens to coins that are zinc plated with copper.

Coop--those are great, instructive shots!

I have found two 1983-missing D Cents. I checked to see if they were from the same dies, but they were. Must be the age/damage that is making them do that.
