For those "Variety, and error" collectors, there is a new column being presented every issue, starting with the June 10, 2008 issue. It takes you thru the whole process from the making of the strips for blanks, how they are made, etc and on into the minting process. Thin is in regard to the Canadian coinage.
Here is a new word for you colectors, whether it be US, or Can., or world: "Scissile".
It is a new word in my vocabulary, that is for sure.
After having read the first edition of the column, I recommend it as very educational for all "newbies", and interesting for all others. Enjoy.
Dick

Can you tell me and maybe a few others, what "CCN" is and where we can find it? Thanks Smile

CCN, is the Canadian Coin News publication, that covers Canadian coinage. It has a section known as "trends", and gives the on-going prices infdicated for the coins. It is not a "buy, or sell" list. The June 10-23 issue began a series of articles covering the coinage process from ingot to slab, to planchet, etc. It is " Errors, & Varieties", by JOHN REGITKO.
He will be covering ERRORS, & Varieties from the "git-go". The first "installment" was very interesting, and informative. I recommend it to all readers, and in particular "Newbies", and Non-Canadian coin collectors as well as the collectors of Canadian coins.
Dick.
