Nice Carol and I can say that it is a new trail die for 2006. Dick, you were close concerning the offset direction; I beleiev it to be around the 300 degree mark.

While we are on that subject, "offset direction", this is mostly used as a attribution tool, so having the exact degree of offset is not critical. If I can determine the offset direction, it helps when I search the files for a comparison to that particular die that I am working on and eliminates similar dies with a diffent offset direction. Nothing mystical about the procedure, I just slap a angle dohicky on the screen and find the degrees of offset that way.

Thanks Carol for keeping me in mind on these trails. BTW, water level dropped about three inches during the night. Now all we have to worry about is 7 feet 9 inches of the stuff. Also, haven't seen either of the two reported gators recently; they are basically a shy critter, unless they are feed by humans. Then they can be a pain.

Carol - Any time is a good time. The water is going down, SSSLLLOOOWWWLLLYYY, so all is well in Gatorville. Actually, the red ants are the ones giving us fits.

I read in today's paper that an older guy was killed this past week by red ants he inadvertently walked through while walking in the flooded streets somewhere in central Florida. That is very sad.
I remember when I went down to help my Dad after a
hurricane a few years ago, that he got stung by about 30 ants. He handled it pretty well, but not everybody has got the health or immune system to survive one of those attacks. Stay safe BJ.

Ever since coming to Florida, I have had many an encounter with these little devils. I do admire their tancity and their sting ,which is less than a bee bite, but does get to you after awhile. Tomorrow I go to Wally-mart for more insect kill in the gallon container (LOL).

BJ, there is only one way to get rid of the fire-ants: pour gasoline in the hole, and light it! Just dig a hole in the entrance, but be fsat! they will swarm in a flash! There was a big nest of them here when I moved in, in 2000. I have not seen one since. Be very wary. Their bite is very toxic for somefolks.

Kinda hard to find a hole to pour the gasoline in when they are floating on the surface of the water Dick I can just picture BJ out there, up to his waist in a flood with a shovel and gasoline, trying to figure out why the 'hole' doesn't stay

I was just wondering,as i watch my little family hook up our boat ,do you have a boat wavy?

I have had my fill of boats. I owned a 40 foot trimaran over in Hawaii, a 28 foot pleasure craft down in Key West and various "small" boats through out the years.

I have also had the opportunity to navigate a 385 footer and a 425 footer through (like under) the waters in both the Atlantic and the Pacific oceans.

No Carol, my boat days are over, but they do come in handy in situations such as these.

Fire ants in the water,
a floating mass of red,
stay far away from them
or your A** is in an E. R. bed.

Maybe a bait station of poison on a floating 2X4 that is anchored from shore. They may try to get on and get the poison and later can be disposed of when not needed?
