Very common on most 1968 coins David. The 'extra thickness' seems to be prevalent on the majority of them, but there are some very nice doubled dies that may be more difficult to spot on later die state coins of 1968 P,D, and S. Take a look on the site for what to look for...mostly on the obverse motto.
