I'm not completely sure of this one but the 9 appears to be similar in thickness as I have seen on the site. The reverse also shows egg shaped dots and some thickness on the lettering.

Looks like a class 6 DDO.

You might see the curved spines on LIBERTY and the little ramp on the lower horiz of the E of WE.

Sounds like 1DO-001/1DR-001, it's both a DDO and a DDR on one coin.

See if any markers match but if the DDO and DDR match it's a good bet it's that one:

I'm not such a "good marker person", so I will put up a couple more pics to try to narrow it down Laughing

Samndra, that LOOOONG streched out "4", sure looks like it is doubled. Nice find, if it actually is.

It matches the doubling for both.

I doubt you'll see the markers on it but it's 1DO-001/1DR-001. Just using one as the marker for the other is enough.

Wink

Also this one is listed by Coneca as DDO die-2 and DDR die-9 and the only real marker they list is using one as the marker for the other:

Designation: 2-O-VI
Description: Strong extra thickness on all lettering and date
Markers:
Stage A: EDS (unconfirmed)
Stage B: Obverse is MDS
Reverse is LISTED as DDR-009 – MDS
Stage C: Obverse and Reverse are LDS

Designation:
9-R-VI
Description:
Extreme extra thickness on E PLURIBUS UNUM, wheat ears, stems, and AMERICA
Markers:
Stage A: EDS (unconfirmed)
Stage B: Reverse is MDS
Obverse is LISTED as DDO-002 – MDS
Stage C: Reverse and Obverse are LDS

Nice doubling on both the obverse and reverse.

I have a question related to the pictures but not the original question. What causes the purplish color on pennies like the color displayed on this coin? When I first started to collect wheaties I saw people refer to the "red" color and at first I thought they were referring to this color so I started to save all of them that I found. I know now that these are not the "red" coins people are looking for buy I probably have enough to fill a few books.

Could it be rust staining from the coin being with something made of iron that was rusting?
