These are just the 60's I found in "tips" for 2 days. Still have alot to go through & follow up w/ scope. Also found this funny Penn. Quarter, it appears to have a lost a layer of shiny, what's up with that? These are just the way I found them, didn't clean at all.
As always....Thanx
Tery

Keep looking, you're bound to find something neat.
I bet you get some wheats too, bad economy shakes them out.
I'm always amazed at how well the 60s cents hold up. Whenever I search boxes or rolls there's a few 60s BU cent's in the bunch and I wonder who had them trapped in a jar for 40+ years
I got a nice 39 and a 49 5c in my change in the last week.

Sorry if I offended anyone, but he/she was laughing at me. Thanks for sticking up for me Dick & Ed I mainly posted them because maybe someone knows something I do not!
So you saw my pic Dick? I'll have to take a pic of the rest of the bike, it's my baby! By the way I'm all of 5'2" tall & 46 yrs. old, but you are right never under estimate By the way the state quarter.... Is that missing a layer or someone harshly cleaned it?
Thanx, Tery

Good afternoon, Tery! We like to pick on someone, now and then. Only in fun. Yes, I believe the quarter is missing a clad lay of some sort. I have several of several different states, and just toss then in flips, and into the "Boo-Boo"'s box. They have lots of company.
I saw the link re the photo, but I was about ready to eat, and then it slipped my feeble mind. I usually stay clear of them, but recently my grand-sons, and great-grandsons came up with a bunch of bikes! I don't think I'll get one, just yet!

The quarter looks scrubbed to me. It would be copper colored as the silver layer might have been missing. I'm seeing silver only. The upper details on the statue is missing, so I guessing scrubbed/submerged in a wishing well or something else. But not a missing layer.

Cioop, I have wondered about that. I have a bunch, and have read the posts ot thoise who have the "missing clad layer, which would leave the underlying metal exposed. Every one I have, has the grey, dull looking appearance, and I wondered how it might have happened. With the frequency of those I found, it must be a large scale "dipping process, to obtain silver, , but there is no silver. It doasn't make "cents"!

Probably circulation/abuse or an attempt to make an error to try to sell them. (AKA garage job)

Coop, if it is a "garage job", it has to be a very large garage, because I have so many, that I quit keeping them, and now just use them for replacements of ones I use from the roll-searching.
