Ed, it's funny, how each of us use the "bucket". I click on the small square, just below the lower left corner, and then jump down to the "generate....". then I clock on the line that lets you post on message boards. then copy, and run for the forum!. what ever works for who ever cares.

Definitely an RPM, but I don't know which one right off the bat.
Nice find! And welcome to the site and the forum!

First of all Mr Daughtrey, THANK YOU for coppercoins.com. What a cool site with more information than I ever hoped to find online. Found your site while "surfing"
I was actually able to attribute two DDO 1995D Lincolns I've had laying around for a while as 1995-D DDO-002 2-O-V-CCW thanks to the great pictures and die markers listed on your site.
I used to be a member of NCADD, but have not renewed for a couple years. No reason, just haven't.
I have been lucky enough to have been credited with 8 new listings in the Wexler files, all "D" mint Lincolns from the eighties. John Bordner has been a huge help "learning" me on varieties and I also count Gary Wagnon as my early mentor. After buying his book on ebay, Gary allowed me to send him coins and check my attributions and he taught me ALOT. I have lost track of him the last few years and would love to get in touch with him again.
ANYWAYS..........I babble alot, but the coin I pictured above I believe is a CONECA RPM#12 using The Lincoln Cent RPM book update:1997-2002 by Dr. Wiles. Although Wiles is not good at listing die markers, the picture in his book & the location of the MM lead me to believe it's the #12.
If anyone thinks I'm off on this attribution please let me know.
Cheers,
JAY

Jay, I'm not too sure it might be the -012, because there is no photo, but, the ID says, "a very strong punching to the northwest". Your coin appears (to me), to be a "tilted", or "rotated", MM. maybe my eyes see something that isn't there. It wouldn't be the first time! LOL

Here's a scan from Wiles' book. Like I said, he thinks markers are a national secret, but it's what I have to work with.
Let me know what you all think.....

You can't be 100% sure without markers but it looks the same to me.
Would be nice if in all RPM books and pics they showed enough area including the full date to verify the mintmark position matches. That one looks to match from what can be seen.

Ed,
I agree about the markers and photos.
Have you seen the latest book by Wexler, Allen, & Bordner, THE COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE TO LINCOLN CENT REPUNCHED MINTMARK VARIETIES Volume 1 Wheat Cents 1909 to 1939 ?
It is by FAR the best book ever published as far as markers and pictures. It's 220 pages, and with "only" about 135 RPM's there a LOT of pictures of markers and MM location for each RPM. Really cool.
Luckily Wiles had a decent picture of this 87D, or It would be in the "unattributed" box!!
Thanks for the reply,
JAY

Jay,and Ed, I just read your post, and saw the picture. It is that one. Nice find. Now for the book: Where can I get one?
Ed, My Powershot A690 came in today, and I have read one book so far about it, and it's operation. I need the AC adaptor, and tried to find one on the same listing of the Canon cameras, etc, but it is not listed. I sent an email inquiring about it. hopefully, I will be able to find that one. I don't want to send the camera back, and EAT 15% restocking charge, (rip-off)! Do you have any suggestions, before I go berserk, and have to order another one, (but with a power asaptor, as part of the kit). Tjhis one came with a (free) 2 GB stick memory chip), along with the 32MB chip.

Jay, I just compared your MM with the #014, and it is not, as far as I can see the same. It is not, from the legend the -012, so it looks like you will have to use DR. Wiles data, at least for the time being. Ed, comments?

Dick,
Do you mean not the 1MM-014 listed on the site?
Notice that if they know the cross ref RPM# they list it but if not they only list the 1MM-XXX number. On most years they start with known ones then list unknowns(kept same numbers if known). The RPM-014 is not one of the ones on the site unless it's one without pics.

Ed, yes. It is the one I believe it is "close to", but the little part on the top of the curve, is not visible, as it is on the site. I believe it is rotated CW. As you said, it really needs a complete date & MM to really be close. Then the markers, if any, depending on the coin, and how new it is. Or considering the accumulated "mileage". tyhe -012 was mentioned at first, and I checked, and found no photo, and the ledgend says nothing about being rotated, or tilted.
I checked the -015, and it does not appear to be rotated, as does Jays coin.. There are no cross-reference #'s.

Jay, can you post another pic of the MM, but with the light from a different angle? i want to see the top, right hand part of the MM. I think I spotted a "something", that may confirm it is the -014.
Thanks, Dick

Dick, I looked at the -014 on the site and I don't think it's the one.....nothing to the NE of the primary MM on my coin. AND if you look at this latest pic I posted the location is wrong for the -014 and MUCH closer for the CONECA RPM-012.
I will check with John Bordner and see where you can get the book mentioned above.
Cheers,
JAY
