I recently found this 1938 Mercury dime with a d/d i believe. So if you agree with this how can I find out what it's worth would be?

That's 1941D RPM#1 as listed in "The RPM Book," by Miller and Wexler, 1983. Eventually there will be services for Mercury dimes on uscoinvarieties.com, but that's probably still a year out into the future. As for other resources that can handle such attributions, I believe CONECA is the only one.

I mentioned to someone about the 1916 Mercury Dime having different details than the later years. So I made a comparision of a 1916 and 1930-S Dime. So I will present the two Dimes.
1916 OBV

1916 REV

1930-S OBV

1930-S REV

They look the same except for a few details. The rim on the 1916 is wider than the 1930-S. The 1916 is toned a little and the 1930-S has some scratches on the obverse. Still nice examples to compare with. (30-S A rare one because of low mintage 1.8M)
The coins overlayed next to each other help to see some of the differents in the design for those years. The 1916 has more detail than the 1930-S probably because this was the year the new Marcury Dime was revealed and later ones didn't receive as much attention. Considering that die wear and circulation affects these coins, you can still see some difference in detail of the patterns that are different. Though minor it may see, the early engravers spent more time on the 1916 than other years.
Details in the hair is different from 1916 to 1930-S

Even the profile looks different with the 1916 image a lot softer in detail with a nice profile.

There are some differences in hair detail, shape of the hair, and some complete feathers looking different in shape. My first love in collecting coins was Lincoln Cents, then the Mercury Dime and others. I just appreciated that the 1916 Dime was different when you knew what to look for.

I read in Coin world some time ago that there were 4 mint mark positions on the 1916-D Mercury. Can you imagine? It would be nice to have a set of all four, wouldn't it? Laughing I once owned a G-4 example and traded it in for a VG-10. That was before I knew about the different positions.
