Looking at the C in CENT I see the same type of doubling as seen on the 42 DDR. Does this look like a DDR on this 39P, and if so, is this a known variety?
It does seem to have some of the characteristics of a class 4 doubled die. The picture is not clear enough for me to make that determination. Is there any more of that type of doubling on any of the other lettering on the coin?
Currently, there are no known class 4 doubled die reverses for this date, but there can always be a first time. The two 1942 DDR's I discovered just last year. Most people don't look at the reverses of Wheat cents too often which is probably why there is a good chance you'll find some nice class 6's in most wheat bags also. _________________ Bob Piazza
