Light die scratches show in and around the date and most of the obverse. ESE die scratch from lower lip. Reduction lathe doubling shows on the bridge of the nose and forehead, however doubling north in the eye area is hub doubling. Reverse is LDS. Reverse
A small die chip shows on the outside edge of the wheat stalk near the upper wheat grains. Die dent next to U in UNITED. Die gouge on O in OF. Die dent at left wheat stem.

This repunched mintmark shows a nicely spread but shallow extra lower right curve area protruding south from the southeast corner of the primary mintmark. There is also a horizontal bar visible inside the primary mintmark. This die is also listed as 1948D-1DO-001.
