Specific notes about this year's cents...
- Recent unconfirmed reports have surfaced that there exists at least one die in 1910P cents that exhibits the remnants of a VDB on the reverse where the VDB had been for 1909 cents. It might be worth checking mid to high grade coins for this possibility. So far we have not bee able to examine a coin nor have we seen a photo that shows this anomaly to a discernible level.
- 1910 San Francisco minted cents, while having a mintage that exceeds the 1909 S cents, is still considered somewhat scarce especially in higher grades. Be on the watch for counterfeits if you are in the market for one. The most typical type of counterfeits would be the addition of an S mint mark to P mint cents, which are much more plentiful and much less valuable. The mint mark addition would be visible under at least 30X as a seam around the mint mark. The mint mark style should also be the same style as those from 1909.
