grading notes
Obverse
This year's Philadelphia cents are generally rather well struck and show full detail. The branch mint cents (D and S mint) can be somewhat softly struck at times, resulting in a slight loss of detail around the highest points of the design.
Reverse
All cents from this year typically show very full detail. Grade accordingly.

1911
this year in history...
- On January 11th, The USS Arkansas, the largest U.S. battleship, is launched from the yards of the New York Shipbuilding Company.
- Ronald Reagan, film actor and 40th U.S. President (1981-1989), was born on February 6th.
Specific notes about this year's cents...
- Denver minted cents are considered rather scarce, and higher grade specimens command a substantial premium over Philadelphia minted cents for this year. Because of this difference in value, be watchful for added mint marks. Although I am personally unaware of any examples of faked 1911D cents, it is not beyond reason that it could happen.
- 1911 is the first year of operation for the Denver mint in striking cents.
